University of Texas at El Paso to use StatMonitr for 2014-15

EL PASO, TEXAS -- The University of Texas at El Paso and StatBroadcast announced today that the school will use the StatMonitr media stats system to deliver real-time stats data to media and stats for all home athletic events during the 2014-15 academic year.

University of Texas at El Paso, better known as UTEP, is a member of the University of Texas System and is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year. With an enrollment of over 23,000 it is the largest university in the US with an majority Mexican-American student population. The UTEP Miners are members of Conference USA of NCAA Division I FBS and sponsor 15 varsity sports. UTEP, then known as Texas Western, was the first college in the American South to integrate its intercollegiate sports programs during the 1950s, and in 1966, the Miners brought home the state of Texas' only NCAA men's basketball championship to date, the story of which was later told in the movie Glory Road. The Miners have appeared in 17 NCAA tournaments in total and won 14 conference regular season and tournament championships.

UTEP is the seventh member of Conference USA to partner with StatBroadcast and the 14th program from the State of Texas to select StatBroadcast.
