BYU partners with StatBroadcast for 2011-2012

PROVO, UTAH -- Brigham Young University and StatBroadcast Systems reached agreement today to partner for media and live stats for home athletic events throughout the 2011-2012 school year. StatBroadcast will provide its StatMonitr media stats system and wireless stat monitors on the Provo campus and, beginning with spring sports, will provide a live stats feed of all events via both the web and mobile platforms.

BYU is a private university located in Provo, Utah and has an enrollment of 34,000. The Cougars sponsor 21 varsity teams at the NCAA Division I level. Since leaving the Mountain West Conference this summer, BYU will play as an independent during the football season and compete in the West Coast Conference for all other sports. The Cougars have a long tradition of excellence in athletics, including a consensus national championship in football in 1984 and five consecutive NCAA tournament berths in men's basketball, including a first-place regular season finish in the MWC and a berth in the Sweet Sixteen in 2011.

BYU is the fifth WCC team to partner with StatBroadcast, joining Gonzaga, Portland, Saint Mary's and USF.
